1. Auburn Boattail Speedster Replica

This beautiful Boattail was built in 2004 by Speedster Motorcars of Paneca. Its body is made from fibreglass over a steel tube chassis. The metallic dark blue paint contrasts really well with the white. Power comes from a 5.3 litre Vortec V8 engine. The engine is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It’s not all 1930s, it has air-conditioning and a CD player if things get too archaic. It’s a very good looking machine and would make for an excellent cruiser with great road presence. Interestingly, the Auburn influenced the design of the Batmobile from the Detective Comics.

2. Mercedes-Benz 300CE-24

This 300CE is a very eye catching and rare beauty. The pillarless coupĂ© comes in a elegant Pajett Red shade with a beige interior. On top of that the interior features dark burr wood trim. Under the bonnet lies a 3.0 litre 24-valve straight-six engine that’s good for 170 kW mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. That sounds like a recipe for a buttery smooth and serene experience. Proper Mercedes. Quintessential Mercedes.

3. Volkswagen Rabbit GTI

If you follow UCO, you’d probably know how much I love a VW GTI. They are some of the best road cars ever made. It’s easy to take them for granted, but they’re a vital every day tool. A good GTI is like a pair of durable, stylish and comfortable pair of sneakers. The performance is there when you need it, but it doesn’t compromise the ubiquitous and practical nature of it. Here is what I believe to be one of Wolfsburg’s very best. It’s the Rabbit GTI, but you and I know it as the MK1 Golf GTI. This one comes in a beautiful black paintjob with a red pinstripe accent that really improves the look. It reminds me of an E30 Evo M3 and a Ferrari 288 GTO. The interior is also just as beautiful. It has red multi-tone cloth seats. Under the bonnet lies a 1.8 litre four-pot mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Power is rated at 67 kW and driven to the front wheels. Doesn’t seem like much but it’s pretty brisk for lugging 800 kilograms of car around.
